I'm very excited about this! Krista Cantrell is my favorite dog trainer by far! She's just released some great step-by-step videos that show you how to eliminate 95% of all dog behavior issues by working with your dog's natural instincts. I have a few of her books and love the way she teaches. Not to mention that her stuff really works. Click on the video to watch. You'll be glad you did...

With consistent training, you can teach your pet to follow basic to advanced commands. This system comes with a waterproof receiver and transmitter. Both are rechargeable within 3 to 4 hours and have a battery life up to 60 hours. The adjustable receiver is comfortable, stylish and can be worn by dogs 40 lbs or larger. From One Man's Heart

Pain and Suffering are inevitable, but misery is optional. I once saw this motivational statement on a running shirt. I liked it and subscribed to it during my time as an ultra marathoner. When I reunited with my sweetheart from 1967 and married her in 2005, I began to understand that phrase in a new and challenging way. Harriette Burnette and I met and enjoyed a love affair in the summer of 1967. We lost touch and lived separate lives for thirty-eight years. During that time we lived very different and challenging lives. She suffered through a series of painful family and personal losses while raising two children on her own. I fought battles with depression, alcoholism, and professional dissatisfaction. Ultimately, after thirty-two years, my marriage ended in a divorce as well. During our separate, but incredibly similar experiences in life, we each held the belief that life still had something special in store for us. In 2005, through a series of unusual events, I made contact with Harriette after a thirty-eight year hiatus. Our subsequent reunion, courtship, and marriage made us believe that a power greater than ourselves worked in our lives to fill our needs and work miracles for us. Little did we know that, when we said, “I do” on that cold day in 2005, we were about to hop on one of life’s most frantic, harrowing, and unimaginable rides. We both discovered the true meaning of pain as well as suffering and learned how our reactions to life’s challenges can forever change lives. We took the pain and suffering, but we decided that misery just could not be an option. Jim taught history at James River High School in Botetourt County for twenty-eight years before retiring in 2003. From 2000 until 2005, he trained for and ran many ultra marathons in central Virginia and elsewhere as well as traveled

Technology has become a way of life for just about everyone all over the world. We do things quite differently these days than we ever have and this includes the way we train our animals. This is why you might be asking yourself is a dog training DVD a good way to learn?

Many people find that they learn better by watching something. This is called being a visual learner. If you find yourself having a harder time reading something and then putting it into action, then a dog training DVD is probably a great way to go for you.

If you are considering taking classes, think it through. There is the drive time (hopefully, your dog’s problem doesn’t involve car rides), and the loading and unloading no matter what the weather. If you’re unlucky, it will rain on class night and you get to smell wet dog in your car, plus after they get out. And remember, if you go to class you are on their time then, not yours. If you can’t make a class, will it throw you behind? How fast can you get in? What if one of the dogs there transforms into a demon when your dog enters the room? And if the class doesn’t work out you will probably not be eligible for a refund.

Why not take that money and invest in a DVD course? Look at the advantages of it: you are on your schedule, all the time. If you need a break, you can stop. If the dog starts acting up, you can take a break and pick it up later. And best of all, if you are just too tired tonight, you can reschedule without having to pay a penalty. It is totally up to you.

Another great thing about these courses are that sometimes we have to see something more than once. Some of us are visual learners and it takes a little repetition to sink in. That’s where the rewind button comes in. You can start it over as many times as it takes.

So if you’re wondering if the dog training DVD of good way to learn, the short answer would be yes. By having these tools at your disposal anytime you need to use them, you will be able to practice consistently with your pet until they get the hang of the new behaviors you need them to understand.

If no, why not?

If you do, do you train them yourself at home or do you go to a dog trainer/club/school?

Have you competed in Obedience? How did you go?

What level are you at? What does your dog know how to do?

I take both my Dallies to obedience every Monday night. Domino has been going for a year and is up to Level 4 (5 being the highest). I will be taking him to agility classes next year and will start to compete him in that. He knows automatic sits, down, stay, stand, stand for examination, fetch and retrieve, leave it, watch me, recall, heelwork and knows tricks like shake, high five, roll over.

Dice has only just started a couple of months ago and is in Level 2, so he’s still learning but he is picking it up fast!
Chaos – by levels I mean have they only just started obedience training, have they been training for a little while and more or less respond every time you give them a command or are they advanced.

Yes I train at our training club. Yes I do compete, I put a CD on my older weim girl. And a couple weekends ago I went to a show with kira my younger weim girl and she got her first leg towards her CD with a score of 183 and 4th placement, she would have gotten a score in the 190’s and a first placement had she not stopped in the middle of the ring. She had never done that before so I was shocked, that was one thing I was not expecting.

I plan on finishing maxxi the older weim girls RN at nat’s, will never do any of leash obedience outdoors so will not do kira for her CD, kira does have her RN though which she got at Nat’s last year.

Not sure what you mean by levels.

Kira knows hand signals, sit, down, stay, stand, leave it, watch me, touch, hup up, recall, off, get it, jump. Maxxi knows the same but she also knows speak.

As for my bullies, I plan do do obedience and maybe agility.

Susie knows dance, high five, watch, get it, stand, leave it, sit, down and much more.

The pups know some of this stuff too.

Edit- hmm, well my bullies are beginners, and my two weim bitches are in advanced classes, my oldest weim has his CD but his anxiety keeps him from going any further so he now just enjoys life on the couch lol, he still knows commands though.
